Enspire Named Finalist in SIIA's CODiE Awards

Austin, Texas - January 18, 2007 - The AHA Core Instructor Course, a blended learning course developed for the American Heart Association by Enspire Learning, has been named a finalist in the Software and Information Industry Association's (SIIA) 22nd Annual CODiE Awards. The AHA Core Instructor Course improves the teaching abilities of volunteer instructors and is being recognized by the SIIA in the "Best Medical and Health Information Product" category.

The CODiE Awards honor the software and information industry's best products and are the only peer-reviewed awards in the industry. Finalists were selected from more than 1,200 nominations through a review by journalists, peers, and others from the software and information industry. "The 2007 CODiE finalists represent real winners, even at this stage of the contest," said SIIA president Ken Wasch. "Competition is fiercer than ever and that makes selection as a CODiE Finalist a major achievement. All the companies on this year's list should feel justifiably proud of their recognition."

Beginning in February, Enspire's AHA Core Instructor Course will undergo a second round of judging. SIIA member companies review the finalists and vote for their favorites in each category. The winners of the 2007 CODiE Awards will be announced on April 17, 2007, at a gala event in San Francisco.

The Core Instructor Course is a blended learning course consisting of both computer-based and instructor-led training developed by Enspire Learning for the American Heart Association in 2006. The course was created for expert instructors who need soft-skills training to become better teachers. The course uses high-quality custom video to address a wide variety of issues, including how to communicate effectively, how to plan a lesson, how to keep students motivated, and more. The course is designed to be both entertaining and effective at improving the learner's skills.

Mindy Jackson, Enspire's Director of Instructional Design, says, "I'm delighted by the recognition, but I'm even more excited to see the data ? the training results ? coming from the American Heart Association that shows our selected strategies and methodologies were very effective."

Enspire's Executive Challenge simulation was a finalist for the 2005 CODiE Awards. Enspire's team is dedicated to producing high-quality training and is honored to be a CODiE Award finalist in 2007 as well. As Jackson notes, "No one does training better than the American Heart Association and so our collaboration produced innovations I hope we can push out to others."
